The Office of Energy and Environment

The office of energy and environment (OEE) is led by Dr. Ronald M. Sega, the Vice President and Enterprise Executive for Energy and the Environment. The OEE supports the integration of the cross-cutting university functional areas: Academics, Students, Research, Operations, Policy, and Outreach and Engagement.

The Vice President and Enterprise Executive for Energy and the Environment

This Vice President position is jointly held between Colorado State University and The Ohio State University, and was formed to increase collaboration across two land grant institutions, lead potential national initiatives, and increase the role of the public university in economic development. Dr. Sega is a member of the Colorado State University President's Cabinet, and The Ohio State University's Senior Management Council.

Sustainability, Energy, and Environment Advisory Committee (SEEAC)

Dr. Sega chairs the Colorado State University Sustainability, Energy, and Environment Advisory Committee (SEEAC), a University committee dedicated to advising the University President, the Executive Vice President, and the President's Cabinet on the best methods of integrating energy, environmental stewardship, sustainability principles, and community action into campus operations.

SEEAC initiatives and successes include the rechartering of the SEEAC committee in September 2009; the coordination and development of the Climate Action Plan (CAP) in September, 2010, in response to the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment (ACUPCC); and led the coordination effort of reporting university data for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s (AASHE) Sustainability Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) in September 2011.

The committee  also works to advance the institution's engagement in sustainability, energy, and environment (SEE) at the community, state, national, and global level.
